Soloist Dutch National Ballet

Nina received her education at The Royal Ballet School Antwerp (Belgium) and The Royal Ballet School (London, United Kingdom).
EARLY START
Nina Tonoli, a Flemish dancer, was drawn to movement from a young age, mimicking dance videos ranging from pop to flamenco. At nine, she followed classmates into ballet purely for the enjoyment of it. By twelve, she chose dance as her academic focus and was accepted into the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, despite being a late starter.
At fourteen, after doing well in a ballet competition, she began to take her training more seriously. A year later, she attended The Royal Ballet School’s Summer Intensive in London, where a spontaneous audition led to her acceptance with a scholarship.
BREAKTHROUGH in VIENNA
Nina joined the Wiener Staatsballett after being the only dancer accepted at the audition and quickly rose to become a soloist, performing major roles in both classical and contemporary ballets.
MOVE to DUTCH NATIONAL BALLET
After seven years and a challenging injury period, she left Vienna in 2019 and joined The Dutch National Ballet as a soloist. She performed in works by Balanchine, Dawson, and Forsythe, as well as classic roles like Myrtha in Giselle. Known for her versatility and authenticity, Nina values direct feedback and thrives in both classical and neoclassical repertoire.
TEACHING THE NEXT GENERATION
In 2025, Nina will take a brief detour from her work with Dutch National Ballet to share her experience as a Guest Teacher at the renowned Summerschool Den Haag, teaching several balletclasses and a Coaching Special.
