Xenia Wiest Soloist and Choreographer with the Staatsoper Hannover.
From season 2021/2022 Xenia will be the new Artistic Director and head choreographer for Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin: Ballett X.
Under her directorship Ballett X Schwerin will, as the ballet company of the North, become a strong cultural brand with an international charisma and appeal.

She began her journey as a choreographer in 2005 when she presented her first work at the ballet evening “Shut up & Dance” at the Staatsballett Berlin and since then has successfully created works in Germany, Mexico, Japan, USA and Russia.
Her recent achievements include 1st prize at the 2016 Biarritz International Choreographic Competition, followed by a creation for the National Ballet de l’Opera de Bordeaux. In 2017 she was part of a new production “Mord im Orientexpress” for the Junior Ballet in Dortmund and choreographed another new creation for the Staatsballett Berlin “Distant relatives”. Besides her participation in the “Intersection point 2018 – “The Hourglass” with the Stanislavski Theatre Moscow, she was a finalist in Diana Vishneva’s famous choreography competition CONTEXT with her work “Axis”. Xenia’s latest creations are “we named him Kurt”, a collaboration with Staatsballett Berlin and Berlin’s independent scene also in 2018.
